Life in the Spirit
--by Joe Dalton
Second Day: Thursday, March 27th, 2003
We can't save ourselves. If we could save ourselves, Jesus' sacrifice would have been unnecessary, useless. Jesus is the One that paid the price. Through His wounds we are healed.
Satan is walking around like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour, but God has given us authority over him. We can cast, drive him out in the Name of JESUS.
The world today is filled with fear, distrust, hatred, selfishness, corruption. These problems can't be solved by ourselves. Only GOD can solve them.
Virgin Mary was not blessed by God because she gave birth to Jesus, but because she said: "Behold the servant of the LORD. May your will be done in me."
Sometimes, our illness has a spiritual root, and nothing can cure it but God. There are many people going to psychiatrists to solve their psychosomatic illnesses, and they can't be cured because their illness is spiritual. We are made of body, mind, and spirit.
We need to cast out all and any thoughts that are not right , that are evil, satanic, in the name of JESUS.
Whatever is true, whatever is noble, , whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is kind, whatever is of good report, if there is any virtue, if there is any praise, think of those things...Rejoice always.
If I don't have joy, I don't have the strength. If I don't have the strength, I can't fight the enemy.
Rejoice always. In everyhing give thanks! Without the joy of the Lord, we have nothing.
Put on the full armor of Christ--EVERYDAY!! that you may be able to resist in evil moments, and after all is over, continue standing firm. Stand firm, therefore, wearing SECURELY ON:
THE TRUTH
THE JUSTICE
THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
THE FAITH
THE SALVATION
THE WORD OF GOD
And pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, watching with all perseverence and supplication for all the saints.
Jesus said, " Greater things than I have done you will do."
We have to defeat the world, the flesh, and the devil. Our feelings must not control us. We must control our feelings.
Do not be afraid. God has given us a spirit of love, power, and a sound mind.
When we wake up in the morning, we shouldn't get under the covers, Satan should--because we are the ones who have authority over him, he doesn't have authority over God's chidren. Our war is not against flesh or blood, but against principalities, forces of darkness. [If we stand next to Jesus, listening to Him, following what He tells us to do or not to do, He will give us the victory!! If we let fear replace trust, despair replace hope, our past failures replace our present and future success, we have lost the battle. Let us allow God to make us new every morning!]
Eternal Life is to get to know God the Father and Jesus who he has sent.
"He who is not with me is against me." --Jesus
Everything that Jesus has is ours; but, in return, we must make sure that everything we have is His. Through the covenant we have with Jesus, we are entitled to His joy, His Peace...They are ours.
"If they have persecuted me, the'll persecute you." If we are not persecuted [because of following God and His lifestyle], something wrong is going on with us. That doesn't refer to illness. God doesn't want us to be sick [even though, sometimes He allows it for different reasons and purposes].
Jesus has set us free from dark places and the darkness, and has taken us to places filled with light, to the Light.[Hallelluya!!!]
Jesus didn't come to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it.
Salvation is not only to be in Heaven, it is here, now
God is calling us to service from wherever we are. It is not something that we have to fight to get into.
Give thanks to God in every situation, not for evey situation.
We have been saved, we are being saved, and we will be saved.
God has no grand-children. Through water baptism, we don't get saved.
If someone leaves his sinful life-style, requests and asks for forgiveness to God [and to the person he has offended--if it is possible], he is forgiven.
If someone leaves his righteous life-style, turns around, and leads a sinful life, he is not forgiven, he goes to Hell.
There is a difference between worship and prayer. Praying is related to communion (worship isn't), as when we talk to each other.
